Introduction to the Authentic Marketer Program
Welcome to the Authentic Marketer (AM) Program! We believe you'll find this course to be a bit different than most marketing courses. While we will explore the act of marketing to some degree, our primary focus will be on the inner workings of you, the marketer.
Why have we taken this perspective? Primarily because of the growing dissatisfaction we experience with marketing processes that leave us feeling inept, despite a slowly growing business and a number of highly satisfied customers. We and many others to whom we have and spoken have a feeling that "there's got to be another way to market myself without playing the traditional game." This is the problem we want to solve with the "Authentic
Marketer tm."
The "Authentic Marketertm is for Independent Service Professionals, such as coaches, consultants, health and mental health care providers and small business owners who are not comfortable with traditional marketing and who want an alternative: a way of promoting that supports giving to the circle of life. Our hope is that this program will help you to market your business effortlessly and with a sense of integrity and inner peace, using several Universal Principles as your guide.
What is Authentic Marketing?
Authentic marketing is applying refined relationship principles in the service industry to serve and maintain clients as well as attract new clients. It is based on the principle that our outer experience is a reflection of our inner reality. It's about shifting our paradigm of how we understand professional relationships, the nature of our own creative spirit, the processes of manifestation, and the energy of money. It's putting our way of doing business and our happiness ahead of financial results. And finally, it's about making money in a way that honors what is highest in our human potential …integrity and creativity.
How is this Course Organized?
This course is covered in 8 weeks and is divided into 8 modules. The first module, the one you're reading, provides an introduction to the course, including definitions, our approach, and what you can expect to get out of it. The next 5 modules explore our Authentic Marketer Frameworks as described below. These are followed by a Review module, then a group-coaching module to help over the humps as you integrate these frameworks into your practice.
The following paragraphs and illustration summarize the five frameworks,
the "Inner Compass" of the Authentic Marketer.
1. Poise: Refining Your Relationship To Yourself. The
idea of this principle is "As Within So Without". This means that
as you work with your Inner Self, your outer world changes profoundly.
Thus our relationship to ourselves affects our relationships toward
other people, places, events and things. The more we refine our
dealings with our inner world of thoughts, feelings, perceptions,
and impulses, the more refined our outer world becomes.
2. Purposeful Creation: Just Making Stuff Up. When we combine
the action of "just making stuff up" with the intention to be
authentic, we give birth to the best of what we have to offer.
Increasing your ability and capacity to receive and articulate
brilliant new ideas, approaches, products, projects, etc., that
have never existed before, will naturally attract those who are
on your wavelength.
3. Perseverance: Mastering The Energy of Money. The relationship
between marketing and making money is crucial to your persevering
on the Authentic Marketing Path. Understanding and possibly redefining
your relationship to money, is essential to the success of the
Authentic Marketer. Two primary perspectives around the energy
of money explored are: 1) money as a measure of your life's energy,
and 2) money as a measure of your mind state regarding wealth.
4. Path: Following Your Natural Attractions. "Let yourself
be silently drawn by the stronger pull of what you really love"
-Rumi. You'll recognize your path by the feeling you get when
you're on it…and when you're not. It's easy. You just ask, "Do
I deep down love this…even if it's hard sometimes?" (you do have
to distinguish between addiction/attachment and love. We're talking
love.) Your answer will be a resounding "yes", when you are on
your path. And a resounding "No" when you're not. Authentic Marketers
need to be very clear about what they love so that they come from
love and not fear. Their path is all about love: Who, What, Where
and How they love.
5. Practice: Operating Within Authentic Marketing Frameworks.
This module explores integrating and practicing Authentic Marketing
Frameworks as a new personal operating system. It requires a personal
paradigm shift in the way you see yourself, others, and the evolution
of your business. Includes suggestions for actions and activities
that will support your evolution as an Authentic Marketer.
What Will You Learn To Do
Differently in the Authentic Marketer?
1. Instead of investing money in advertising and presentations,
you invest in spiritual growth and clarity about whom you are
and what you have to give.
2. Instead of learning new and improved manipulative techniques,
you invest time, energy and money in the development of your ability
to maintain deep, long-term relationships
3. Instead of using guesswork in your marketing process, you tap
into the fundamental laws of the Universe and how money really
gets distributed.
4. Instead of elevator speeches, you language your service or
product in a way that is authentic to you. You won't need to make
anything up or manipulate others to buy from you.
5. Instead of playing the traditional game, you obtain a new definition
of marketing that feels natural and comfortable for you to apply.
6. Instead of panicking over the bottom line, you dance with the
acquisition and management of money and with the ebb and flow
of your income.
7. Instead of setting up lunches with a hidden agenda, you apply
refined relationship practices to the conduct of marketing, practices
such as detachment, Oneness, Self-awareness.
8. Instead of pushing yourself to accomplish more from you're
to do list; you create an environment of support that keeps you
going forward easily and gracefully.
9. Instead of planning and executing marketing attacks you conduct
marketing as a matter of Being and lifestyle.
10. Instead of aiming marketing messages at large groups, you
share uncontrived and effortlessly with all you meet, your clear
sense of purpose.
11. Instead of dreading marketing and all it's attendant conflicts,
you implement an Authentic Marketing model that is fun and easy
to use, and that flies in the face of everything you've heard
about marketing, and everything that has turned you off about
it.
12. Instead of focusing on the bottom line, you focus for the
sake of Seeing and creating more… abundance effortlessly. Can
an attraction vs. a seduction marketing perspective work?
